Course Introduction

This one-day course is designed for Road Safety Audit Team Members and Team Leaders seeking to update and enhance their understanding of the Road Safety Audit process.

 

Course Overview

The course is designed to support both designers and auditors in addressing current challenges associated with delivering safe DMURS schemes, implementing projects on high-speed roads, managing works in transition zones, and developing high quality cycling and active travel initiatives.

Course Structure

The Road Safety Audit Skills Update course will be covered in four comprhensive modules which include:

  • AM: Module 1 – Road Safety Audit Standards & General Principles of Road Safety
  • AM: Module 2 – Road Safety Auditing in the Urban Environment.
  • PM: Module 3 – Road Safety Auditing in Transition Zones, High Speed Roads and Rural Roads
  • PM: Module 4 – Road Safety Auditing Cycle and Active Travel Schemes

  • Focus Point: The Road Safety Audit Feedback Form

Additional Information

Training will commence at 8.30am sharp and each module has been designed to provide between 1 – 1.5 hours of engaging content. Delegate involvement will be welcomed and encouraged.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided each day.

Accommodation is not included as part of the training course fee. The booking and payment of accommodation will remain the responsibility of each delegate.

Hard copy course notes will be provided to all attendees.

Enrolment will be handled on a first-paid, first-served basis, with priority given to delegates whose course fees have been received. Early payment is therefore recommended to secure your place.

Course Trainer - Martin Deegan

Martin has accumulated over 30 years of practical experience delivering complex transportation infrastructure through all commission stages.

His career commenced as a contracting civil engineer, supporting the construction of major road and infrastructure projects in Ireland, UK and Australia.

Over the last 20 years, Martin has served in various Director positions for civil engineering consultancies in Ireland, UK and the Middle East, developing and leading the day to day operation of a number of highly effective traffic and road safety engineering teams.
